Dismissal payment and notice 2026

Explanation
Length of service for the payment is calculated up to the end of the notice period; an incomplete year counts pro rata by complete months. Official example: a reference salary of €1,500 and 3 years and 6 months of service give €1,312.50. The notice period is determined by length of service on the date the letter is sent. Not included: Alsace-Moselle, sales representatives (VRP), journalists, mutually agreed termination (rupture conventionnelle).
Note: indication, not legal or employment advice
This calculation is an indication based on general statutory rules and the amounts published for 2026. It is not legal, employment or tax advice. Your collective agreement, employment contract or established practice may provide more favourable rules. For a specific case, use the official simulators or consult a professional.
