Privacy and cookies

No cookies, no tracking. We only count anonymous totals to improve the calculators.

In short

What data do we count?

When a page opens, your browser sends a small signal to our own server, with only the name of the event (“page view” or “calculation completed”) and the page path. On a page view it also sends the name of the site you came from (for example google.fr or linkedin.com), without the address of the page on that site and without search terms. “Calculation completed” is counted at most once per calculator and per view, when you have changed the data and got a result.

The server adds it to a total per date, site (coutsalaire.fr), page, country, event and calculator, and to a total of views per date, site and source. The source is only the name of the referring site reduced to its main domain (for example “google”, “bing”, “linkedin”), “direct” if there is no referring site, or “internal” if you browse within coutsalaire.fr. We store nothing else.

The country is derived from your IP address using a local country database from DB-IP (on our own server, not with a third party). The IP address is then deleted immediately and is not stored. We also do not store browser or device data (user agent), screen size, full web addresses or search terms of the referring site, and we do not build profiles. Obvious bots are not counted.

To limit abuse of the counter, the server briefly calculates an anonymous group number (one of 4,096) with a secret key that is replaced every day. This number cannot identify you and is erased within two minutes.

Why?

To know which calculators are used, how many calculations are made each month, and from which countries and via which sites visitors come, in order to improve the site. Basis: our legitimate interest in improving the site, with no personal data stored.

Retention period

The totals are kept for 25 months at most, then deleted automatically.

Contact form

Via the form you can report an error, make a suggestion or ask a question. We then store your message, the type of message, the page you mention, the site (coutsalaire.fr) and the time, plus your email address if you provide it. The email address is optional; only provide it if you want a reply. We do not ask for your name or any other data. We only use your message to reply and to improve the site, and delete it after 12 months at the latest. A copy is sent by email to our address (info@loonkosten.nl); replies are sent from that address. Against abuse, the server briefly keeps an anonymised fingerprint of the IP address (not the address itself).

Server logs

Like any web server, our host keeps technical logs (IP address, date, page requested) for security and the proper functioning of the site. They are not used for the measurement above or to track you.

Fonts and resources

All resources (fonts, scripts, styles) are served from our own server; no data is passed to a third party during your visit.

Your rights

The totals contain no personal data. For a message sent via the form, you can ask to see or delete it via the same form (stating the message number). You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL or the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (Netherlands). Publisher: see the legal notice.
